October 2010
Thenon announces a new version of its System i Change Management product SEE/Change.
The latest version (4.5200) is a cumulative release and contains a number of new features and enhancements to improve the management and control of the development life cycle, as well as keeping pace with the new technology in IBM i 6.1 and 7.1.
In making the announcement, Richard Smith, Product Manager said "after 22 years our current and new clients are still asking us to develop more features to help them to improve the development life cycle and keep pace with the platform."
This release supports Rational Developer for i 7.5 and also the new version Rational Developer for Power Systems Software 7.6 released with IBM i 7.1.
Our advice for clients is to plan to upgrade SEE/Change once a year to keep up with the latest technology.
The release information is available in the Download Area of this web site.
Release highlights include:
Upgrades to Objects Versioning
SEE/Change now supports full versioning of non source based objects and real time monitoring of each version installed on a production system during the release building and sending operation.
Upgrades to Network Status
New enquiry panels have been developed to provide real time summary at release level of the progress of change requests on production systems.
Upgrades to concurrent development for ILE objects
Changes to how SEE/Change manages ILE program objects during the promotion of a change request have been introduced that allow an ILE program to be promoted to an environment even when it has already been promoted to that environment. The new version will supersede the previous version.
Support for Rational Developer
Support for RDi 7.5 and RDP 7.6 has been included and new check out and cross referencing panels are available. Our plug-in has been fully tested on both these versions.
Client suggestions and bug fixes
New audit information and panels have been included and all known bugs fixed.
